Jessica Makes Pottery, from ceramic artist Jessica Van Swol, produces handmade ceramics – from teapots to vases to dinnerware – that are a perfect addition to any home.
We are so happy to have Jessica Makes Pottery at the Chicago Artisan Market at Morgan Manufacturing (401 N. Morgan St., Chicago) on Sunday, September 22, 2019 (10am-4pm) along Chicago’s finest artisans in food, fashion, home goods + art.
According to Jessica, ceramic objects have both a long history and a predominate presence in our lives. Their continual existence compounds their role as companions of daily ritual and holders of our history. In this regard, ceramic objects can be complex and individualized record keepers. These messages were not tucked away to be lost or forgotten, but openly displayed on objects important for living.
