At Stellina, founded by Chicago-based designer Stefania Barbanente, they make one-of-a-kind leather and suede handbags that are detailed, unique and made in the USA.
We are happy to welcome Stellina to the Chicago Artisan Market on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 10am-4pm at Morgan MFG (401 N. Morgan St.), along with top Chicago & Midwest artisans in food, fashion, home goods + art.
Stellina means “little star” in Italian. When you look into the night sky, the first thing noticed is the moon – but what about all of the little stars surrounding it? Each and every star has its own shape, story and name. Stellina handbags are like the stars in the night sky, because they are unique and incorporate special details.
The first handbag designed is the “Rose” named after Stefania’s mother. The half-moon style crossbody handbag is structurally roomy, making it easy to carry across the body or over the shoulder. It has an adjustable strap, a zip closure, red suede lining and the designer’s signature star logo. The “Rose” comes in three different colors: black, red and cognac.
The motto upon which Stellina was founded is: “The handbag by name because of the influence you’ve made.” Each handbag line will be named after the women who have made Stefania into the woman she today.
