If these sound like plot points from a melodramatic telenovela, you’re not wrong — Destiny of Desire draws inspiration from popular Latin American soap operas for its fast-paced, over-the-top comedy. When the two swapped babies are reunited as adults 18 years later, it sets into motion an outlandish tale of revenge, forbidden love and infidelity — with a few bilingual musical numbers thrown in too, just to keep things interesting. Don’t miss Destiny of Desire when it comes to the Goodman Theatre at The Albert in Chicago.
