With over 30 years of knowledge and experience in the antler industry, Tony and Jamie Schaufler, owners of My Antler Dog Chews, provide the best, naturally-shed in the USA deer antlers of all sizes, for dog of all sizes.
We are excited to welcome My Antler Dog Chews to the Chicago Artisan Market on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 10am-4pm at Morgan MFG (401 N. Morgan St.), where they will join 100+ top artisans in food, fashion, home goods + art.
Tony travels the western states and throughout the Rocky Mountains purchasing antler from collectors who buy in their area from avid hikers who seek them. There are many species of deer in the United States (including Whitetail, Mule, Blacktail) with elk and moose being some of the largest members of the Deer family.
The male deer of these species shed their antler annually in the spring, with some starting as early as January. My Antler Dog Chews purchases thousands of pounds of shed antler every year to supply the big demand in the dog chew industry. Tony has been cutting antler for over 12 years, and the popularity is still rising.
My Antler Dog Chews are specifically sized for small breeds, medium breed, large breeds and extra-large breeds. Special orders are available upon request – they can suit any dog’s specific needs, special weights and lengths.
Are antler chews safe for my dog?
Elk Antler Dog Treats and Chews help your dog engage in their natural instinct to chew without the risk of swallowing harmful substances such as plastic or rope toys. Always use caution – when offering your dog antler dog chews, make sure their activity is supervised. Buy the antler chew that is the appropriate size for your dog. Once the antler has been worn down to the point that it fits in your dog’s mouth and you cannot see it, it’s best for it to be taken away.
Will antler splinter or break off?
My Antler Dog Chews sells the highest grade antler which is the current year’s shed. It is the most durable antler you can buy. Over time, like all bone, antler will dry out if left in the elements. As long as your dog is chewing the appropriate size antler for their size and aggressiveness, it is not likely to splinter or break. If you cannot see the antler in your dogs mouth, it is too small for them to chew.
Are any animals harmed to provide these treats for my dog?
Absolutely not! Deer species shed their antler every year in the wild. The antler is collected from the ground and processed by cutting with a band saw to provide these delicious treats for dogs.
Is the antler processed?
The antler is not altered, treated or modified in any way, and it is 100% natural.
How long will these treats last?
Antler chews last many times longer than typical dog chews. They have a soft meaty middle and a hard antler outside to provide hours of chewing enjoyment for your dog. These dog chews last weeks to months depending on the aggressiveness of your dog’s chewing.
