Meet Ferrando and Guglielmo, two randy teenagers so confident in their sweethearts’ fidelity (and their own magnetic personalities) that they accept a bet to disguise themselves in an attempt to seduce each other’s fianc?e. Their plan goes wildly awry when the women show affection for their new suitors, throwing the guys into a panic and giving rise to some of the finest arias ever written. Don’t miss the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s take on this classic rom-com, subtitled “The School for Lovers,” performed in Italian with projected English translations.
