It was the princess herself who wanted to establish a national dance company, and the result is the internationally acclaimed Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, led by award-winning Artistic Director-Choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot. For this Chicagoland performance at Roosevelt University’s Auditorium Theatre, the company is set to share its darkly beautiful take on the classic Sleeping Beauty. La Belle dives down to the fairy tale’s roots, resulting in a production Dance Magazine has dubbed “absolutely sublime.”
