We can’t wait to dig into the kaathi rolls and bowls from Kaathis at the Chicago Artisan Market on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 10am-4pm at Morgan MFG (401 N. Morgan St.), along with top Chicago & Midwest artisans in food, fashion, home goods + art.
The true essence of a culture can oftentimes be found in its food. This could not be any truer for Indian cuisine, particularly with the bold, vibrant flavors of its street food. Kaathis has brought it to Chicago with delicious Kaathi rolls crafted with their own home recipes.
Kaathi rolls originate on the streets of Kolkata in the early 20th century when the British ruled India. Kaathi rolls are meats or vegetables marinated in exotic spices, cooked on skewers over an open flame and then wrapped in an Indian flatbread called paratha.
Crafting these rolls is something of a passion project for Kaathis, and sharing that with their customers is what they love most. Whether for delivery or catering, they invite you into their welcoming space for a gastronomic journey to their cultural roots.
Vegan and vegetarian menu options are available. Fresh ingredients are used and Kaathis is halal.
