Fashion Inspired By Nature In Diptychs By Liliya Hudyakova
Fashion Inspired by Nature in Diptychs by Liliya Hudyakova has been floating around the internet for several years. We found this YouTube video “Fashion Inspired by Nature” on Cepek Art’s Channel. The video features looks from the runway along side famous artwork and images found in nature. A diptych (pronounced dip-tik) is a piece of art created in two parts.
It seems the original creator of the fashion and nature pairings is Liliyan Hudyakova. Although we could not find a website for her, Google images was rich with what appears to be her work (e.g., designer dresses compared to art work and photos).
We’ve often heard fashion designers speak of being inspired by art and nature. We annually host StyleChicago.com’s The Art of Fashion Runway Show, so it’s no surprise that we loved this video featuring fashion, nature and art. In this particular video, it’s amazing how much of fashion designer’s creations can be found in nature. We are further impressed with Liliyan Hudyakova who can take beautiful works of art on the runway and find similarities in nature and famous art found in the most prestigious museums.
Art and fashion stir the soul and illicit an emotional response from everyone, whether it be “I don’t like that” to “That is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen!” They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so it’s no surprise that artists and designers of all mediums have drawn inspiration from nature.
What a great reminder for us to see the connectedness we have with the world around us and to never stop exploring this great big sphere we call home. What will inspire YOU to create?
