Bolt & Hide - Liquor Cabinet Bar Cart, Industrial Cage
Bar cart + liquor cabinet by Bolt & Hide

Bolt & Hide is a small-batch home furnishings shop specializing in creating beautiful industrial and farmhouse lifestyle furnishings. Designed and built with passion by artisan Frank Voznak, all items are handmade to the highest standards.

Why We Love it
Bolt & Hide brings industrial materials into home and office environments for everyday use. Voznak is an engineer at heart who revels in how products are built. He starts all his pieces with a hand-drawn sketch which he validates with 3D technology. From there he specifies the gauge of metal, species of wood and ounces of leather needed to complete each piece.

Metal, Wood + Leather
Nearly all Bolt & Hide pieces contains one or more elements of metal, wood and leather. Turning structured materials into lifestyle items, the Bolt & Hide designs speak of refinement and yet keep the raw industrial aspect for which the material was intended.

Meet Frank of Bolt & Hide at the Chicago Artisan Market at Morgan Manufacturing (401 N. Morgan St., Chicago) on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 10am-4pm along with 100+ of Chicago?s finest artisans in food, fashion, home goods + art.

Bolt & Hide - Industrial and Farmhouse Furniture

Inspired by Chicago, a City that Works
Frank draws inspiration from the industrial era when the Midwest was hard at work, crafting quality products that were built with the mindset and skill to withstand the test of time. There?s a certain grit to the Midwest. Chicago, with all of the iron structures, the old stock yards, rail, and industrial corridors? it?s all big timber and steel beams.

Locally Sourced
Bolt & Hide sources all material from local companies. From the grain on wood and leather to the markings on metal, Frank is on-site, selecting each item. The tools used from the industrial time period have worn a bit and often leave scuffs and small imperfections. Reclaimed is used when possible and where applicable. In the end, each product is hand-stamped with an individual serial number and marked with pride.

About the Founder:
Frank Voznak’s grandfather was a skilled machinist who worked for a large Chicago-based company and his father is an avid woodworker. When it comes to welding, Frank looks to his father because with over 40 years of hands-on experience, he?s quite versed. Frank uses his grandfather’s tools with his favorite being the finishing file.
