For a taste of France in the heart of Chicago’s suburbs, visit the charming Bistro Monet.
Paintings of Claude Monet adorn the interiors and customers are greeted with pleasant French tunes playing softly in the background.
The fresh food is authentic as well. For appetizers, you might try the Chicken Liver Mousse or the Mussels Provencal in a tomato, garlic and white wine broth.
For entrees, the following scrumptious dishes are available on the menu:
- Salmon Encroute: pan seared salmon in puff pastry, Chablis beurre blanc
- Turban of Sole: stuffed with lobster mousse, saffron sabayon, seasonal vegetables
- Roasted Rack of Lamb: Ratatouille Provencal, roasted red potato and garlic in rosemary au jus
- Comfit of Duck Strudel: wild mushrooms, seasonal vegetables, light peppercorn demiAnd what’s visiting a French bistro without trying the desserts? You could try the Classic Chocolate Mousse with Fruit and Whipping Cream, the Creme Brulee with Berries, or the Lemon Tart with Raspberry Sauce.
