Wishbone Restaurant

Wishbone Restaurant started with two things in mind: the need to introduce Chicago to Southern Reconstruction cooking and a venue for Chef Joe Nicksons mother to hang her paintings.

Wishbone prides itself upon its ability to serve Southern Reconstruction cooking to all hungry Chicago-dwellers. Though the style may sound complicated, the concept is rather straightforward. Those at Wishbone define Southern Reconstruction cooking as the preparation of sophisticated, fresh food at popular prices.

This simple concept follows a trouble-free tradition of democratic food that can speak for itself. At Wishbone, there is no confusion as to whether or not your meal is indeed food rather than a work of art.

Laid back but full of quality, it is the ideal spot for a dinner out with friends and family, snooty business associates, in-laws or boho vegans. Since Wishbone is located in such a diverse city, the management felt as though aiming towards the city as a whole rather than a small population would be more beneficial to all parties.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, they offer a diverse menu with enough options to please any one of the aforementioned visitors.

Dinner options include:

  • Peppercorn Steak
  • Jambalaya Cajun Stew
  • Grilled or Blackened Atlantic Salmon
  • Louisiana Chicken Salad
  • Herb Crusted Tilapia

The hardworking staff strives to create a casual environment with excellent food options. With a nationally-acclaimed breakfast menu and an understanding of friendly service, this Washington Street restaurant has the ability to satisfy any meal you may crave.
