Pastry chef Maggie O’Brien‘s philosophy is that everyone deserves a feel good moment at least once a day. Her most popular pastry items include croissants, danish and scones, as well as cookies, tarts, macarons and brownies. Locally sourced ingredients and time-tested French techniques make Velvet Dessert pastries extra delicious. Everything is hand-crafted, from scratch, so the customer can feel as special as the pastries taste. Enjoy a taste of France with galettes, from-scratch croissants, Madeleines, tarts, quiches with new flavors each week as well as traditional favorites like cakes, cupcakes and cookies.

Pastry Chef, Maggie O’Brien started Velvet Dessert in the Spring of 2015. As a classically trained French Pastry Chef, Maggie uses her creativity to develop a menu that heightens the traditional French pastry to something contemporary and delicious. Modern flavor profiles, high quality ingredients and an artful eye set Velvet Dessert apart.
Maggie is a graduate of the French Pastry School in Chicago where she was a “For the Love of Chocolate” scholarship recipient. She has an undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University with a major in Hospitality Management and a minor in Business.
