Piccolo Sogno – Italian Restaurant in River North

Celebrity Chef Tony Priolo and partner/wine expert Ciro Longobardo introduce Piccolo Sogno, an authentic, casual-elegant Italian dining experience, to the River North neighborhood of Chicago.

Chef Tony Priolo, formerly of Coco Pazzo, and Ciro Longobardo have finally realized their dreams in the opening of Piccolo Sogno, which means ?little dream? in Italian.

Inside, the room is draped with sheer muslins and quaint Italian sconces, while exquisite Murano chandeliers and an Italian marble bar set this room off perfectly in an earthy decadence. Piccolo Sogno?s wicker chairs and petrified wood tables are scattered over a beautiful terrazzo floor, and the open kitchen and exposed brick walls bring a rustic, Italian far-off countryside vibe to this Italian restaurant in River North.

And yet, the most exciting part about Piccolo Sogno is the outdoor patio hidden away in the back, which completely transports its diners to the Tuscan backyards of little Italy. This is the perfect spot for a romantic alfresco dining experience.

Priolo?s menu focuses on classic and traditional comfort foods of the Italians, including:

    • Porchetta alla Romano: One of Rome?s most famous dishes, slow-roasted pork seasoned with fennel and herbs
    • Wood grilled Branzino (sea bass), a specialty of the Mediterranean
    • Margherita and Pizza Bianco con Rucula: Baked in their wood-fired oven, a white pizza with arugula, mozzarella and shaved Parmigianino-Reggiano cheese

And of course no Italian restaurant would be complete without a wide variety of housemade pastas and Italian desserts.

Italian wine specialist, Ciro Longobardo has over 20 years of experience in the hotel and restaurant industry, and it shows in Piccolo Sogno?s impressive Italian-only wine list of over 150 different bottles.

Piccolo Sogno is the Italian getaway to impress your business associates or romantic dates with.
