Peanut Butter Soup makes hats, pillows, scrunchies, headbands, knitted clothes and fine art pieces. In her knitting practice, Olivia uses up-cycled materials. She goes to thrift stores and finds knitted sweaters which she then unravels to make new things.
All of her products are made with 50-70% up-cycled materials. It is extremely important to Olivia to be conscious of everything she is bringing into this world. Any other yarn used is ethically sourced from US-based fiber mills.
A recent graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design, Olivia’s studio focus is on soft good designs for home and wearables. A multidisciplinary fiber artist and textile designer living in Chicago, she uses a lot of bright colors in her work because that is what makes her the happiest – and she wants to share that feeling with others. She is very passionate about sustainability and uses up-cycled sweaters to create new and beautiful knitted goods. Her experiences and talents includes weaving, embroidery, sewing, knitting, crochet, felting, screen printing, hand-dyeing, and tufting.
