As playful as the images are, they reveal Matthew’s inner truths, and he loves sharing them with people who can relate. He get immense satisfaction when someone finds themselves (or someone they know) in his work.
Matthew enjoys finding and pairing vintage and repurposed frames with canvas prints of his own images. The Matthew Made Art collection includes handmade wood plaques, chalkware, plush characters, tees, magnets, puzzles, and archival quality paper prints.
Matthew’s work has been shown in galleries and exhibitions from Disneyland to Amsterdam to Tokyo. The multi-talented artisan is also a paper craft artist, illustrator, banjo player and an incessant doodler living in Kansas.
Editor’s note: Matthew is like the Steve Martin of animal art – complete with refreshing offbeat humor and hidden banjo-playing talent. (Matthew – if you’ve seen the movie, The Jerk, you’re “somebody now” – your name is in print….digitally at least. )
