Vintage-glam isn?t only in the movies. At LuLu?s at the Belle Kay, Audrey and Marilyn would feel right at home.
Specializing in evening gowns, wedding gowns, cocktail dresses, coats and furs, Lulu?s at the Belle Kay is a must-see vintage clothing and accessories boutique in Chicago?s North Center neighborhood.
“This is not where you come to buy a Halloween costume,” said owner Laurie Demma-Davis. “Women shop for black tie events. I even dress brides from head to foot.”
A 30-year retail veteran and former Marshall Field?s personal shopper, Demma-Davis chooses pieces based on “quality, uniqueness, exquisite fabrics and excellent workmanship.”
An eclectic selection of costume jewelry is available – named “best vintage jewelry” by Chicago Magazine in 2006. Demma-Davis selects accessories with a keen eye after collecting herself for 40 years.
- 1940?s-era hats constructed by Local Milliners
- Alternative Bridal Wall
- Bold Victorian Jewelry
- Art-deco Pieces
- Eisenberg Original Brooches
All pieces at Lulu’s are in mint-condition and dry-cleaned. Additionally, a full-time seamstress is available in-store to make that 60?s-era Valentino fit perfectly.
Demma-Davis? vintage knowledge alone can make stopping in worthwhile, but she also enjoys sharing the history of her fabulous vintage finds.
