Klosti, from designer Connie Panos, creates handsewn accessories for you and your home. Fabric, sewing, beads and buttons are her passion as she upcycles the old into new, makes fiber arts jewelry and fun kitchen towels.
We’re happy to welcome back Klosti along with Chicago and the Midwest’s finest artisans in food, fashion, home goods + art, at the Chicago Artisan Market at Morgan MFG (401 N. Morgan St., Chicago) on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 10am-4pm.
• Dish Towel Dresses:
Dress up your kitchen with a bit of whimsy, style and color. Great for wiping hands, drying dishes or just looking cute, the dish towel dresses make a great housewarming or hostess gift. Available in a large variety of themes and colors, they are made with high-quality, 100% cotton dish towels and can be machine washed and dried.
• ReTIEd Necktie Creations:
Designed in memory of an uncle and his exceptional floral creations and ties, the ReTIED Necktie Creations are hand-stitched to create a lightweight and soft accessory that highlights the beautiful color and fabric of the original necktie. The length of one entire necktie is used for each one-of-a-kind brooch and the original brand/label is stitched to the back.
This unique upcycled necktie brooch makes a beautiful addition to any outfit. It can be worn as a brooch or pin on a jacket, sweater, shirt or hat or pinned on jeans or a belt for a fun and fresh look. Wear it in your hair – on a headband, hair clips or bobby pins, clipped to a pony tail, or added to a stylish messy bun. Pin it to your purse, accessorize a pillow or add as a bow for a special gift … the options are endless with these lovely blooms and a little creativity.
Be sure to talk to Connie about creating a special brooch from your own “family ties.”
The origin of Klosti:
In Greek, klosti translates to “thread.” Connie’s Greek heritage is a part of who she is – the fabrics and “threads” of creating are simple and complicated. They have been her passion and salvation for years. In this modern world, simple threads help find a way to be in harmony with the past, present and future.
