Jewelry Sculptures by Michelle – Elegance with an Edge

Exquisite designs that impress

Jewelry Sculptures by Michelle

Jewelry Sculptures by Michelle is a line of hand-sculpted, statement pieces – earrings, necklaces, pins and bracelets – from self-taught designer Michelle Hoerdemann.

“Elegance with an edge” is often how Michelle’s signature line is described. Her designs are ceramic with special finishes such as 22k yellow and white golds, and they are hand-painted in a variety of colors before being hand glazed. Creating custom bridal pieces is one of Michelle’s specialties.

Meet and shop with Jewelry Sculptures by Michelle along with 100 of the Midwest’s finest artisans in food, fashion, home goods + art, to the Chicago Artisan Market at Morgan MFG (401 N. Morgan St., Chicago) on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 10am-4pm.

Jewelry Sculptures by MichelleWhen you shop Jewelry Sculptures by Michelle, you will see some of the most exciting, unique and entirely made by hand jewelry designs in existence. It’s almost hard to believe there is no metal used in the creation of her jewelry line – every piece begins as clay.

Although a self-taught jeweler, Michelle spent many years in the fashion industry. Her designs have been worn by Angela Missoni, Ambreal Williams of America’s Next Top Model, and a former Project Runway designer contestant
used her designs as the accessories during his fashion show. Michelle was featured by ABC Good Morning America’s Rebecca Jarvis as Entrepreneur of the week on her No Limits site in December 2017.

About the artist:
Michelle Hoerdemann has loved jewelry and fashion of all kinds since she was a little girl. In high school she worked part time at a local jewelry store and fell in love with all that sparkles and shines. She studied fashion merchandising in college, after which she worked for Chicago’s top stores: Marshall Fields, Lord & Taylor and Bonwit Teller. She managed women’s ready to wear fashions, and then moved on to spend most of her career as an account manager for Estée Lauder cosmetics.

When Michelle began her own jewelry line, she chose to work with porcelain/ceramic clays as she had learned the art from her father. She enjoys the whole process and using her hands to sculpt the pieces, carve different patterns, and layer different shapes. Michelle cuts, sculpts, sands, paints, glazes each and every design, and the process takes dozens of hours to complete the finished design.
