Chicago artist Hueynie Hariputra specializes in hand drawn, traditional batik and hand-woven cloth accessories for men and women under her Hueys label.
Batik is a method of producing colored designs on textiles by dyeing them, having first applied wax to the parts to be left undyed. Many Indonesian Batik patterns are symbolic for luck for children, precious values to brides and grooms and some are reserved for royalty.

Hueynie designs and makes cotton neckties, bow ties, pocket squares, fabric flowers, necklaces, bracelets, clutches and pillows. She creates designs that are loved by people across continents, languages and cultures.
Hueys by Hueynie Hariputra will be featured along with 100+ of Chicago?s finest artisans in food, fashion, home goods + art at the Chicago Artisan Market at Morgan Manufacturing (401 N. Morgan St., Chicago) on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 10am-4pm.
About the Artisan:
Hueynie Hariputra is a Chicago-based Indonesian graphic and fashion designer who was named “best student” at the ARVA School of Fashion, where she received her diploma in Fashion Design.
