A Girl & Her Pug uses an eco-based resin to create her river charcuterie tray collection, which is always a best seller. Each board is finished with a food safe oil, and is ready to be used as soon as you bring it home. A “charcuterie how to” is included with each board purchased so you’ll know exactly which accompaniments work the best.
New for 2021 are the buckeye burl boards that Alexa has been working on. While it took her out of her comfort zone, the resulting boards have been worth it. The Buckeye Burl is a solid and hefty board with unique properties. A burl (also referred to as a burr) is unsightly from the exterior when growing on a buckeye tree. However, it is beautiful on the inside, with unique and often dramatic swirls, patterns and colors.
A former pastry chef turned woodworker, Alexa – and her sidekick Dexter the pug – have produced each unique board in small batches in the suburbs of Chicago since 2019.
