Now his St. Petersburg-based contemporary dance ensemble Eifman Ballet is back in Chicago to perform his masterwork Red Giselle, inspired by the story of a Russian ballerina who’s caught up in that country’s revolution before she escapes to Paris, where she faces yet more personal challenges. The Chicago Tribune called this brilliantly staged and costumed production “diabolically exciting,” while The Los Angeles Times refers to Eifman’s creations as “theatrical, visionary works that delve into characters’ lives in the most exciting, probing, titillating, and wondrous ways.”Buy Tickets
