Owner and designer Christina upcycles western cowboy boots that are cut down the middle and folded over to make a short boot. She carries boots for women and girls of all ages and in a wide variety of sizes. These cowboy boots with a sassy attitude are individually designed to reflect the character of the boot, with accents that include belts, hemp cord, chains, feathers and lots of bling.
The ChicksKicks Boots Adventure:
ChicksKicks Boots is a family-run business out of Munster, IN. What originally began as a challenge to make a unique pair of boots has grown into a family adventure. Christina and her daughter Vanessa are responsible for the designing, which takes place in their in-home studio. It’s a hugely messy process, but they have a lot of fun with finding the exact look that complements the great boots they work with.
Finding the boots is the job of Christina’s eldest daughter Rachel, who lives in the Reno, Nevada area. She scours second-hand and consignment shops to get quality boots and belts at a reasonable price. The shipping and packaging is done by Christina’s son, and the web page and technology is handeled by her husband Rich. They are truly operating a family business to bring people a fabulous pair of boots that they consider “wearable art.”
