Cutting edge documentary and feature films about the plight of Palestinians can be found at the annual Palestine Film Festival held at the Gene Siskel Film Center in Chicago.
Completely run off of the hard work of volunteers and supported by the Middle East Cultural and Charitable Society, the Palestine Film Festival, started in 2001, is one to attend.
Past films have included the documentary Slingshot Hip Hop about Palestinian hip hop and youth culture from director Jackie Reem Salloum, feature film Soy Palestino from Osama Qashoo that investigates the issues of the Palestinian Diaspora in Cuba, and the documentary from Ryuichi Hirokawa Palestine 1948 Nakba .
