With Latino?s being a large part of Chicago?s population, it is fitting that one of the best film festivals is the Chicago Latino Film Festival.
Now in its 23rd year, the Chicago Latino Film Festival offers films that showcase the Latino culture in exemplarily made features.
Sponsored in part by the International Latino Cultural Center and having venues all over Chicagoland, this festival is sure to have something for everyone.
Past films have included such gems as To Play and To Fight , a documentary from Venezuelan director Alberto Arvelo that tells the story of the Venezuelan Youth Orchestra System, What I Know About Lola from Spanish director Javier Rebollo that chronicles one man?s obsession with the new woman in his neighborhood and El Cimarron from Puerto Rican director Ivan Dariel Ortiz about a couple that are kidnapped.
There are panel discussions and receptions to top off some of the feature films, so be sure not to miss the Chicago Latino Film Festival in the spring!
