Chalkboard, a Lincoln Square restaurant named for the chalkboard that the daily offerings and wines are handwritten on, was created by Chef Gilbert Langlois and Elizabeth Laidlaw to be a comfortable neighborhood restaurant.

The menu at Chalkboard incorporates locally grown, organic and sustainably harvested ingredients wherever possible.

The ever-changing menu includes items such as:

  • Spring Plum Duck: roast Peking duck with pickled plums, grapefruit, mint, celery root and Hosin sauce
  • Austrailian Hiramasa Salad: Ahi Amarillo paste, watermelon radish and frisee
  • Wild Roasted Salmon: served with cabbage, spring peas and salted almond puree

Chalkboard?s interior is reminiscent of Victorian and French tearooms and incorporates the look of the building?s exterior. Paintings and knick-knacks compliment the restaurant?s walls.

On Saturdays and Sundays, Chalkboard serves afternoon tea with scones and pastries.

Chalkboard has an extensive wine list.
