In Across the Pond at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre, the Joffrey Ballet presents three groundbreaking ballet performances that show an incredible range of style and technique. Ascendant choreographer Andrew McNicol draws on the musicality that’s garnered acclaim throughout Europe with his piece Yonder Blue. Liam Scarlett takes inspiration from the Baroque tradition in his piece Vespertine, which evokes classicism and athleticism amidst a display of chaneliers. And in Home, Ross Allchurch fuses contemporary and commercial dance styles to tell a story of strength, resilience and belonging, inspired by the personal stories of American immigrants.
