Michael Patrick Thornton first met playwright Will Eno while acting in Steppenwolf Theatre's production of Middletown. Now he directs the Chicago premiere of one of his favorite Eno plays, Oh, the Humanity, at The Gift Theatre.
Five short playlets featuring several characters portrayed by the same three actors provide comedic snapshots of everyday people in crisis, brought to life with with Eno's characteristic wit and lyrical language. The New York Times called Eno "a Samuel Beckett for the Jon Stewart generation."
