About Chicago-based designer Shernett Swaby (pictured bottom left):

Shernett Swaby, a fashion artist born and raised in Jamaica, always dreamed of becoming a designer. At the young age of 8, Swaby was designing clothes for her doll’s and mending her own. Swaby attended the International Academy of Design and graduated in 1998.

Upon graduating, Swaby began an underwear collection that appealed to both men and women, in hopes of using the collection to raise funding for her long awaited women’s wear collection. The successful collection was sold in over 20 lingerie stores across Ontario. Not wanting to get distracted by the underwear collection, Swaby shifted her attention to her women’s wear line.

Swaby's work has been featured in magazines and television, and she was a Top 5 Finalist on Project Runway Canada.
