Situated in the heart of Navy Pier, the Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) is the perfect way to escape into the sweeter, more romantic times of Shakespeare.
Although the works of William Shakespeare guides most of their productions, Chicago Shakespeare also experiments with other types of theatre including traditional classics to new classics.
The Theater includes a World’s Stage Series which caters to the diverse population of Chicago by hosting international theatrical productions to the public.
Chicago Shakespeare also truly attempts to bring Shakespearean theatre to the American public. The CST Family Series exhibits abridged, kid-friendly versions of classic plays.
Thanks to its famous home, Chicago Shakespeare attracts 225,000 viewers every year. Furthermore, CST presents over 600 performances throughout the year.
This summer, Shakespeare enthusiasts can look forward to a Spanish production of Romeo and Juliet, a modern “ad-RAP-tation” Funk It Up About Nothin’, and a production of Roald Dahl’s classic Willy Wonka.
